Where shall I host my site this time???????

I really have a lot to write today.......

I remember saying to myself--is that really that simple???..haha..I have hosted my first website...." edited the html code of the index file of a Content Management System(XOOPS I guess) installed on my webspace..said to myself that I too have some webspace:-).......It took me hours/days of browsing....hard work.......it was awesome to see the control panel and so many applications available...all free, installing and uninstalling MS/ecommerce/forums/albums.....but which is the best??? why so many??
After college life I thought its time to host a site that ends with "soft" and did so, and I chose php/mysql/apache based CMS and applications again...and now I reached a better stage....started identifying the forum application behind a forum and CMS behind the sites that I browse..phpbb forum is the most I have come across....small and medium solution providers and businesses often used Joomla,Drupal CMS...
A year ago..I had to do few changes in the Cubecart ecommerce solution before pointing it to website, and called up a small company which claims itself as experts in Ecommerce solutions..they said "why dont you go for OSCommerce, we are experts in it and changes in CubeCart cannot be implemented in such short time as we donot know about it" I got same reply from many companies and two companies tried for more than a week and gave up..
I agree OSCommerce is also a best choice and is being used by millions, at the same time CubeCart is also being used by almost one million users....both are customisable, I was wondering whom i can ask..the forums of CubeCart like all the project forums do have developers/freelancers who can get the job done, but I have to escrow my money and freelance jobs generally gets delayed which I couldn't afford to........I couldn't blame those smaller companies for claiming themselves as Ecommerce experts..A small company will employ about 5 ppl and pay them quite less and cannot afford to spend time n money on traning them on various ecommerce solutions...so they chose the most used (OSCommerce)........
This happens with almost all the areas where more no.of applications are avaliable free of cost and smaller companies emerge to provide solutions for these applications/frameworks.

There are almost 40 Portals/CMS avaliable and 20 forum applications available
(Check this link: http://www.opensourcecms.com/ )...Competition,enthu,sponsors make the software more perfect and better, but now except the bigger companies which sponsor and involve their teams in the projects other companies cannot dare to promise/mention that they can provide complete solution to all CMS/Portals and this narrows down the chances of projects for smaller companies........
Well I am not here to argue/support but to decide whether I shall go for php/mysql based hosting or Java/tomcat based.
After I started peeping into web frameworks and web applications built and compiled on Java :-), I want to host my site on Tomcat server which is relatively costlier to ,
I am struggling with minimum number of options available....
Java/Tomcat is relatively costlier when compared to php web hosting...and no.of webspace providers are less and choice of databases,cost,control panel options are obviously less..
There are java based CMSs available
(check this link: http://java-source.net/open-source/content-managment-systems), but less in number and the no.of webhosting companies that include these CMSs in their Control Panel are less compared to PHP.One of the webhosting companies that provide InfoGlue CMS included in their ad that a committer of the InfoGlue project is working in their company!!!!!!
This may not be same for other CMSs/webhosting companies
So, the options are less in Java based webhosting and service may not be that good.

There are thousands of PHP websites being built in few minutes even by a novice web developer............the webhosting reseller told me once "you are really a beginner in this world", but by that time I have already bought my first domain and gave him the dns to point to webspace that he provides me on rent/month:-).....User/commerce websites are also being built based on the free software available considering that fixes in case of any issues can also be done faster by even smaller companies, which may not always happen........

So, I am really not sure where I can host my website this time!!!!!! on php/mysql/apache which I have already done or on Java/tomcat which has lesser options!!!!!
Still thinking!!!!!!
